Frank Howard Kissing Goodbye to 'Big Thursday'

For the first 57 years of the South Carolina - Clemson football rivalry, all games were played in Columbia on the Thursday of the State Fair. In 1960, the game was going to be moved to Clemson and alternate years. This image was taken in 1959 as Frank Howard, Clemson's head coach at the time, kissed goodbye to the 'Big Thursday' game, as it was called.
